Having trouble logging in to public servers...

OK, I was connected fine last night and this morning and aside from occassionally getting disconected (not concerned about that atm), I didn't have any problems.

But just a few minutes ago when I tried to connect and log in it gave me the following error:

Error 1001: Could not connect to the EverQuest server. Please try again shortly.

That may not be word for word but it's close... So anyway, I haven't run the patcher, so I do not have the patch from today, I'm still running with the patched files from 8-14-02 and 8-19-02. I have not made any changes to files or anything since I was playing this morning.

So... Is the login server down? Or is something else going on?

For a temp fix, try deleting the login2.eqemu.net line from your eqhost.xtx file. If your running a server, delete it from loginserver.ini also.

This is ONLY a temporary fix, the 2 loginservers have not been behaving lately. Please put the files back when the loginservers are talking to each other again.

I actually was able to get in... I kept trying about once every 5-10 minutes and it let me in after an hour or so
