Thanks for your interest. For the next couple months at least we will remain frozen on the current client. There is really no guarantee as to when we will go back to live compatibility. The decision was made to freeze because it got to a point we were chasing live patches so much that there was no time to fix bugs, add features, or review things like combat mechanics and skills.
At this point in time, the best thing you could do is keep an eye here and see when we will be trying for live compatible next. Once that happens, there's a packet collector you can use to jump on Live and collect data that will be needed.
Until then, I'm afraid about all you can do is sit tight and keep in touch with the community from time to time.
