Trev you should get a reduced level req weapon off the AH. If you nab a 3-400 DPS weapon you can take it all the way to 60 and resell it pretty easily.
Also you should get back to work.

Haha, thanks for the advise, KLS It is probably a good idea, but I will most likely be 60 this weekend anyway and just bought my 3rd tab of stash (200k), so kinda broke atm. Just upgraded my DPS to about 3.2k using a 1 hander and a source in offhand. Up to 20k hps, so the hit to DPS isn't too bad for now. Will optimize my build later as needed, but what I have now is working OK for hell so far.
I should probably move these D3 posts to offtopic and out of this thread, but I am a bit lazy right now :P
After hitting 60, I will probably farm inferno for a bit and then go back to working on EQEmu stuff until they put out some patches that address some of the issues I have read about end-game and other things. Even though some of the complaints I have read about sound pretty valid, I still think D3 is well worth it and have been having a blast so far.
And LOL @Phantons. I wish I had the kinda play time you must have for D3. I work full time and have a wife, 2 kids and 1 on the way. Between that and plenty of stuff to work on around the house, my play time is unfortunately limited. I am just happy to have some friends like Akka to play with on a semi-regular basis.

I might have to get D3 if you guys are playing :P
In fact, it increases my chances of getting to to about 200%.
Only Akkadius (and possibly Trev) will get that.

Trevius laughs at it but doesn't know what I'm talking about because he exited the video right away and was appalled LOL

Yeah, I hear ya. I don't have my drivers license yet, so applying for jobs for me has been an "ehh" situation, and I'm not currently in school. I've got time to kill.

I like Trevius' praetorian names in the above picture!
Perhaps I should give D3 a go as well. Is it free to play?

There is no monthly fee, you just buy the game, attach it to your battle.net account, and play.

It is addictive, but not exactly the same way as EQ. I played EQLive for years straight, but only played D2 for a couple of months at a time then took a year or so break and came back to it and would play it again for a while. I expect D3 to be pretty similar, where you play it for a while then maybe come back to it again a few months or years later and enjoy it all over again.
The game itself is pretty awesome. Even if I only played 1 time through normal mode I feel like it was well worth the money. Currently, I am playing inferno difficulty, and still enjoying it. My wizard is up to 49k DPS self-buffed now, but I still need to work on my build for inferno to survive a bit better while retaining the high DPS.
The D3 forums are practically useless as anyone who enjoys the game is playing it (which is the majority of players), while people with complaints come to the forum to post negative threads. Yes, there are some valid complaints, but most of it involves the end-game stuff and they are patching regularly to resolve as many of the issues as they can. I am sure it won't take long to fix most of the major things people complain about in the game. I think the game lacks a bit in build diversity, but I expect that they have some cool stuff planned that they are saving for the first expansion that will add lots of flexibility in class diversity. Even with the current state of D3, the diversity is decent. I think most people started complaining almost right away because they hadn't invested the time needed to create some of the more unique type of builds and gear setups.
Obviously, some classes are going to be easier to get going in the higher difficulties. Right now, I think the preferred end-game class is DH, with Wiz being a close second. Then, I think Monk is next due to their ability to avoid damage. The Witch Doctor is good for pets to deal with combat, but they normally lack in DPS from what I have seen. The Barbarian is probably one of the hardest classes to make a decent build for in Inferno, but does really well up until that point.
