Default Varlyndria - Update 1.0 - Assault Of The Voldrothus




The doomsayer was right this entire time -- a faction of great evil has opened a rift straight into the prime material plane of Norrath. This darkness seeks only destruction and enslavement of all that oppose it and the only force that can save Norrath is the extra dimensional faction of Varlyndria.
Adventurer's of Varlyndria must ready themselves for the war that is about to tear the fabric of time wide open. The Assault Of Voldrothus is nigh.


FEATURES

- LEVEL CAP RAISED TO 30
The level cap will be raised to 30 and all NPCs level 20+ will be gaining massive upgrades to their health and stats. Be ready!

- PATH WEAPONS, OFF-HANDS AND SEALED CLASS PATHS
All 48 class paths will gain a long quest chain through their masters that will prove they are serious about learning the true secrets of Varlyndria. Students of that path will swear an oath to never betray their faction and this quest will send the dedicated pupil straight into the new war with Voldrothus. Players will need to collect extremely rare power sources, artifacts and magical energies from the invading planar creatures to succeed in their quest. These special items will help forge weapons and off-hands of immense power that only a true blooded follower may wield.

-NUMEROUS PATH AND BUG FIXES
Many paths will be updated and fixed and pets will no longer steal experience from players as well as many bug fixes.

- NEW REPEATABLE QUESTS
The Varlyndrian Main Lobby will have a couple new NPCs who will offer players some new repeatable quests. Complete these as many times as you want for some nice rewards for you and your bots!

ASSAULT OF THE VOLDROTHUS was pushed back but it's going to come out eventually. Here is the latest patch notes for Varlyndria and please read the many weeks of patches I've added as well. There is a new donation option with very nice gifts, and a new 25th level dungeon as well. I haven't posted on here for a while but just wanted to let everybody know what's up with Varlyndria.



MAJOR UPDATE 06/19/12

The level cap is now 30.

Tier 1 Charm effects now scale with level and don't have a cap.

All tier 1 charm perm pets and temp pets are now level 32.

Avengers have had their two hand slash damage increased.

Bard's Mind Splitting chord does more damage now.

Witch Doctor's Potions now scale with level instead of having a set
duration.

Battle Priests have been buffed in all of their damage and their
proc now lasts 36 seconds up from 24. Battle Priests and their group
also proc the Wrath spell now instead of Smite, giving them extreme
damage for a short time.

Commander's pet's Expose Weakness now also deals some damage as well
as debuffs the target.

Celestial Griffin's Healing Ward now heals for 50+level of pet.

Star Throwers and Axe Throwers have had their damage increased by
30%. Sniper arrows deal 40% more damage. These paths should be
pretty close now in ranged dps.

Custom augments that fit armor slots can now fit in 1,2,3 and 7.

There is a new NPC in the Bazaar which gives LDON points for Alien Tokens.

Varlyndria just moved to the new server hosted by Akkadius and is now extremely stable. I had 13 players with 5 bots each killing 6 bosses in North Qeynos and not one person went LD. That stress would of instantly crashed the zone before no questions asked. I hope this stability is welcoming to all new players or older players who quit because of how unstable the old server was. I appreciated the server from Lord Adakos it was nice of him and he's always going to be a big part of Varlyndria's success.

The Estate of Unrest has been home to evil for many years and horrible dark
rituals have been performed there. This has ultimately opened up an evil gate
way for the Voldrothus, and they now have taken the place over with an army
of undead horrors. March into the darkness and save Norrath and Varlyndria
from certain destruction!

This is a level 30 raid dungeon and should be approached with caution when
soloing. Some bosses might require the help of many bots/players to kill
while others are more solo friendly.

You've been officially warned.

The Conjurer's staff of force has been greatly revamped and now makes Conjurers
extremely useful compared to their former status. The staff now procs a 34xlevel
force nuke called CONJURED FORCE RANK 1, this nuke makes the target dizzy when
it's hit for 12 seconds, which lowers it's chance to hit by a good amount.

Conjurer's on top of all this can also summon their weapons for their bots
and pets, and the original force snap ability has been restored. However
The wizard forcesnap spell now deals 12x level damage now instead of the
previous set 250+ damage. This allows Conjurer's to trade these items to players,
bots, alts or anything else and allows the proc to scale so it's not OP
at lower levels.

The Guardian charm has been changed, it now gives the guardian a clicky buff
called SHIELD MASTERY RANK 1 which lasts for 30 minutes and increases their
bash damage by 15 x level as well as their chance to block attacks by a small
amount. They no longer have the base 250 bash on their charm from this change.

Most healing spells have had their mana cost doubled. This change is to help
off-set the current mana regen items in the game to where they help with
downtime but don't give players unlimited mana. Keep in mind healing spells
now stack with the caster's level and do double the amount of healing on live.

Hybrid classes: Paladins, Shadowknights, Rangers, Bards and Beastlords now have
a level 1 combat ability called Desperate Strike. This allows the class to use
their endurance reserves quickly to do a quick strike dealing 25+level x 7 damage
each hit. This skill costs 80 endurance.

Resists on many custom items have been toned down for balance reasons.
__________________________________________________ _________________________
Slayers now receive an armor class penalty of -12 per level with their charm buff.
Players were using slayers to tank better than guardians and have extreme dps at
the same time so this was a needed change.

Monks now have a new ability called Serpent Strike at level 30. This is just
like Rapid jab but uses round kick instead. (Best used with Dragon Apostle path)
The endurance cost is slightly higher than rapid strikes for balance reasons.

Xaxrasha has 8 new augments. players can now enhance their kick, flying kick,
dragon punch, bash, frenzy, backstab, shapeshifter damage and spell power.

(This works on spellbook spells but might not work on all charm spells)

A lot of custom items have gained Spell Power to increase the power of casters.

Tier 8 Donation Items are now available!

NOTE: Aside from the items you get from the token players can now get a custom
item made that will be sold from the new "Legends Of Varlyndria" merchant.
Players give Drakiyth a basic idea of what they want the item to be and the
merchant will forever have it for a hefty price. The stats and what it does
is completely judged by Drakiyth but requests for things like.."Fire sword"
are totally fine. Example of an item made with a character's name on it:
"Drakiyth's Blade Of Darkness" Only 1 item can be made for that tier forever
but future tiers will allow additional items from that donator.

There are now a couple bankers inside the Bazaar to help players out.

Diablo has got a little smarter with his minions.

Some monsters in Netherbian Lair can now see all kinds of Invis or Hide.

This is important for older players who felt donator potions were a bit unfair. Now all players have access to a version of a donator potion which are a bit weaker but still extremely helpful. I want you all to know that the tier 8 donators have also added special legend items that ALL players can purchase for millions of plat. This not only is fair to everybody but gives players a huge plat dump which was very much needed. Unrest will be receiving some changes in the upcoming days and 1.0 will be heavily worked on as well. I invite everybody over to have some fun. Enjoy.

Added potions of rejuvenation to Xaxrasha in the Guild Lobby. These potions have 5
charges on them and act as weaker versions of the donator potions.

Veracross The Wretched has been changed and no longer turns players into beetles.

Unrest has lost about 20% of its mobs.

Feldark Weapons now deal 470 unresistant magic damage procs and click bursts.

VARLYNDRIA MAJOR UPDATE - 07/10/12

Tier 8 Donators Executioner, Tony Jaa, Elimentz, Biggy and Germatron have had their
custom items added to the game and there is now a merchant in guild lobby that will
allow all rich players to buy these wonderful legendary items for a very hefty price of
platinum. Become a Tier 8 donator yourself and you get a 50% discount from this npc
on buying other Tier 8 legendaries as well as get to have your own in the game forever.

Poisoner rogues have had their poison proc and grenade damage increased by 450%.
This will get the path up there with others who have their spell damage buff on.
__________________________________________________ ________________________
Battlepriests have been revamped. The path now increases all melee, kicking etc damage of their
entire group by 15% per level as well as grant them the ability to proc an enhanced scaling
wrath for a limited time. This damage applies to bots, pets and anything else.
This effect can stack with other 5% or 10% damage bonuses. On top of this Battle Priests
also increase their 2 hand blunt damage by 17 per caster level and increase their chance to hit
by 50.

NOTE: This only effects BASE damage which means it ignores any +Bash/Kick type mods.

Boots of Kicking Gloom now have a chain armor graphic instead of nothing.
__________________________________________________ ________________________
Due to having new hardware for Varlyndria: Brigands, Earthguards, Ghostcallers,
Dune Raisers and Time Weavers can now summon their pets on all enemies in a
30 foot radius away from a target and these pets now last for 2 minutes. This
will allow these paths to have their very own personal army to fight anything
in the game with and will make them the ultimate solo paths as originally
intended. Since the temporary pets can constantly stack up now they will also
do tremendous dps over a course of 2 minutes. Easily putting these paths
ahead of most when brought to their full power.

NOTE: These pets will steal experience if you let them fully kill enemies
by themselves without interfering. It's best to use them with some AOE
or learn how to damage enemies with your bots/group. This is so players
can't go and spam their personal army on everything and wrack exp with
no effort. With great power like this comes great responsibility as well.

Timeweavers can now spawn their pets regardless of the target's resistance
check. This allows them to get their pets out even if their spell triggered
nuke within the Chaotic Rift is resisted.
__________________________________________________ ________________________
All pet classes/paths have a new level 1 spell/combat ability called Pet Mastery.
This spell increases your pet's melee/kick/bash damage by 15% for each level you have
obtained and lasts for 3 hours.

This spell is also cast on the commander's pet when it's summoned.
__________________________________________________ ________________________
Snipers, Axe Throwers, Star Throwers and Brigands now receive a 3 hour
buff called Ranged Weapon Mastery Rank 1 when they summon their ammo or
thugs using their charm. This ability increases the paths ranged damage
by 30% per level up to +900% extra damage at level 30. The name of these path's
charm abilities have been changed to the following:

AXE THROWER: Axe Throwing Mastery Rank 1
BRIGAND: Brigand's Dirty Tactics Rank 1
SNIPER: Bow Mastery Rank 1
STAR THROWER: Throwing Star Mastery Rank 1

The base damage of the ammo of these paths has been reduced by 70% as these
paths don't fully 100% rely on their ammo anymore, this also allows for
special ammo cases to be found around the world off bosses which can also
enhance these path's damage even more than their charm ammo.

The Spell Damage/ Healing focus +25% hasn't been changed on charms. The reason I had
to add these spells is because the scaling spell damage I had originally planned was not
working as I intended. This will still have the same effect every 5 levels players can get
giddy about a spell/heal increase.


All classes that can cast damage spells now get the following spells.
NOTE: These last for 3 hours.

SPELL POWER 75% - Level 5
SPELL POWER 150% - Level 10
SPELL POWER 225% - Level 15
SPELL POWER 300% - Level 20
SPELL POWER 375% - Level 25
SPELL POWER 450% - Level 30
SPELL POWER 525% - LEVEL 35
SPELL POWER 600% - LEVEL 40
SPELL POWER 675% - LEVEL 45
SPELL POWER 750% - LEVEL 50

All classes that can cast healing spells now get the following spells.
NOTE: These last for 3 hours.

HEALING POWER 10% - Level 5
HEALING POWER 20% - Level 10
HEALING POWER 30% - Level 15
HEALING POWER 40% - Level 20
HEALING POWER 50% - Level 25
HEALING POWER 60% - Level 30
HEALING POWER 70% - Level 35
HEALING POWER 80% - Level 40
HEALING POWER 90% - Level 45
HEALING POWER 100% - Level 50

Wizard's Planar Arcana has been changed to auto crit for its duration and the damage
bonus has been removed.

Distortionist's charm has had its negative resistance removed due to Pet Mastery being
available for Enchanters. Charmed pets in this way can be enhanced greatly so there
had to be a chance for the charm to break to balance it out. Distortionist players should
take caution when fooling around with Pet Mastery, lest they meet their own demise on
a resist.

Slayers, Guardians, Avengers, Stormblades, Tiger Disciples, Dragon Apostles, Carnalists,
Warchanters, Velician Seers, Shapeshifters, and Mindflayers now gain a passive buff
on their charm power which increases their melee damage by 5% per level. This effects
kicks, bashes, flying kicks , dragon punches etc as well as melee damage.

NOTE: This only effects BASE damage which means it ignores any +Bash/Kick type mods.

Bloodthirsters, Executioners, Assassins, and Bladesingers now gain +10%
damage bonus per level while their special charm power is active. This effects
bashes, frenzies, backstabs, etc as well as melee damage.

NOTE: This only effects BASE damage which means it ignores any +Bash/Kick type mods.

Assassin's Killer Instinct now reduces the recharge time of Backstab by 3 seconds while
it's activated.
__________________________________________________ ________________________
Cryomancer's Arctic Chill effect now also slows an enemies attack and casting speed by
50%.

Spirit Wardens have lost the spell damage bonus on their charm due to the new Spell Power
spells the Beastlord has gained. They get 50% spell haste instead.

Soulreapers no longer gain spell damage on their Embrace Of Darkness due to the new
Spell Power spell Necromancers have gained. They now gain a 50% chance to critical
strike with their dots and each dot that crits deals 125% additional damage. Instead
of 100%.

SPECIAL NOTE TO PLAYERS:

Thank you very much for assisting with helping the server out either financially or with
adding your 2 cents. I appreciate everything you have all done for Varlyndria over the
months. With your help I was able to pay off a lot of internet, server, hardware and labor
costs. I put in hours upon hours into this server to bring you all a unique experience and
I am FAR from done with that. Varlyndria will be getting more updates and more upgrades
over the years and I plan on doing nothing but keep going with this server. If you hear any
rumors of the server drying up and I am losing personal interest ignore them. They are
false and I have spent way too much time and effort into this wonderful server to ever let
it go like that.

Thank you for all the trust and belief and help and I hope to entertain all of you for years
to come.
