Default Source for 0.5.7-DR4
Apologies if this is not the right plase to ask, but...

Is there anywhere that it is still possible to get source for the 0.5.7-DR4 build of the server as it seems to be the only version that is compatible with the client I have?

I just checked through my source archives and found one for 5.7DR4. Uploaded it to my webspace for you:
