Default model problems...

Things are working pretty good, but there are some mobs (such as fire gobs and dervishes) that show up as human models. Is there some way to repair this bug, so that the correct model is attached to the mob name?

Thank you,

Jieseng

Not all models work in all zones, well very few work in all zones actualy. So it can be one of 2 things.

1, model cant be used in that zone.

2, your UI files are messed up, and need to be patched. Which you CANT do right now.

You can also try to foce load the model for the zone if the model isn't normally loaded in that zone.

Either look for a file with the zone name + _chr.txt (ex. befallen_chr.txt) or create one..

In which you will find
Code:
6
drv,drv_chr
beh,beholder_chr
sdc,sdc_chr
dev,kaesora_chr
npt,ponightmare_chr
skb,ponightmare_chr
The first line is the number of models your forceloading.

The start each line is the short name for the model (I haven't played in quite a while and it used to be the first three letters of the mobtype name, but it has possibly changed) The second one is the file in which the model can be found (the file will have an .s3d extension on it)

Last i played was before OOW was released which as far as i know they changed the model format, but there used to be a model viewer somewhere out there on the internet that could view the old format. Some models cannot be forced into other zones (Ex. the PoP God models [Xegony, Rathe etc...] cannot be loaded into zones outside of their appropriate zones)

The other problem you might be having is a missing expansion. The EQ patcher always downloaded zones but not always models, if you didn't check the proper expansions you would only get the zones and not the content. If you don't have the content now you can't patch or you will be kinda SOL as far as eqemu goes, but that is the other possible cause.

Default Thank You

Thank you, I will try force loading the models. I believe I did DL the patch just prior to 9-13, although I do not have all the expansions. OOW is the last expansion I own, too.

Thanks,

Jieseng

i am having the same problem, and i already have tried the next things:

* use my old January-2005 backup for replace all "*_chr.txt" and it still is not working..

* use my old January-2005 backup for replace UI folder, and it still is not working...

* use my old January-2005 backup for replace "*.s3d" files, and it still is not working

* use my complete backup of January-2005 and make a backpatch, but it still continue without show correct models..
