Exclamation No zone available

Hello,

I just updated from the cavedude pack to 0.7.0-845 version.

The server boots up with no error message. I got the 5 dynamic zones started and felwithea and felwitheb started aswell. I could create a new high elf character but when I try to enter the world I got "That zone is unavailable" error.

When I look on world.exe I see autoboot trying to launch felwithea (61) but nothing more, like if the zone was unable to start...

Is there something I did wrong ?

When you updated, did you read the change log file?

In there, there are SEVERAL Database Changes.

You MUST DO ALL OF THEM starting just above the version you converted from to the version you went to!!!!!

If you did them, you probably missed one, that's all it takes is one!

As Mattmeck would say.. This same problem and solution has been posted SEVERAL Times

Just the 0.7.0. No number after it, so you need to apply ALL of them.

thanks magefeu I had this exact same problem and I had just come on to bitch about it *laffin*

but while I am here can I ask (with the obvious chances that I am going to get harassed by wise-alec or whatever his name is) what is the suggested number of zones to start with? I mean, I know base is 5, but should one try to start with more? would it help?

also, while I **am** going to scan all the posts, **IF** this hasnt been asked, could someone point me to info regarding how to finetune the server now that I finally got it to login?

oh.. just a side note, (because CERTAIN people say it cant be done) I am running Trilogy patched up to current with sony but then altered back down to 6.2 and the server is cavedude's 3.52 patched to the latest 0.7.?840?

tank ya

Default Update

I am using Cavedude's server installer and then upgraded to the latest binary (845). Now, when I load up I get to character creation but when I try to go into the zone it says NO ZONE AVAILABLE and no matter how many times I retry it is the same response.

now here is the real oddity:

my neighbor has the EXACT SAME INSTALL ( I did the entire thing) but when he gets to character creation he clicks to go into world it denies him like min, but then when he clicks again, it goes there.... WTF? got any ideas? ok you might want to know the system info:

my system is :

P-III Celeron 1.4ghz
512Mb 133mhz Dimm
onboard itel 82810e 32mb vid
OS- Windows 2003 SP1 (all firewalls off)
also tried it on Windows XP SP2

his system is:

p-II Celeron 400mhz
256mb pc100mhz Dimm
ATI Radeon 7000 (pci)
OS- Windows 2003 (no service pack)

got any ideas?

I might also mention that even though he CAN go to the new zone, when he tries to cross to a new zone from there it crashes.

You put in ALL of the SQL updates in the database that were in the change log?

This happened to me and I found out that I missed just ONE of the updates...

Did you try using Angelox's database?
