editing existing ones imo is about the easiest way... what I use is GeorgeS' item editor... if i want to make a custom dagger i just simply copy and exsisting dagger and make it however i wish via just editing. I know this isnt exactly what your asking for but every other item editor ive tried is either really buggy or doesnt even work at all. Plus having to type in every value and remember all the values needed to create one item can be rather daunting. I have found it much much easier to use an exsiting item as a template and then just changing the values want to customize. Hope this helps a little :P

As mentioned above, always use an existing item as a template before creating one. This was you know it will work in game.

So here's a question... I like the idea of using existing items, but whats the best way to then remove that item from all loot tables and spawns? Lets say I want to make a really nice dagger and then add it as a quest reward. I use a rusty dagger as the starting item, so now I don't want every skeleton on Norath to weild it, or people fishing for it Is there a statement I can use to remove it?

EDIT
Oh wait I think I got it... you just copy it so the right things are there and you don't mess with the original... This tool is nice!
