Default What needs to be done for PoP zones...

I downloaded the PoP files a few days ago just for kicks, and now I see people on these forums are able to access the PoP zones. I did what I thought may work, and just unzipped the files into my EverQuest directory, started up EQemu and did #zone(I use minilogin, 0.3.6), and of course that did not work. So you now know I have no idea what I am doing.

My question is, is it a simple thing that can be done that would allow me to access these zones, or is it one of those "if you have to ask you have no hope" and I should just wait a while things? My clueless intuition tells me it has something to do with those cfg files which are not present for PoP zones, but I dunno. If it's simple, what do I have to do?

I'd rather not ask, but I got the zone files and all so I figure I may as well try my best to put them to use.

I assume you're talking about a readme that came with the PoP download. What I got didn't come with a readme unfortunately- I'll get it though. Thanks for the indirect help

The only Planes of Power leak out there is one big zip file that has a readme heh (Plus a planes.sql file which you have to source into your db, it explains that)...

Can someone post the files that come in the zip? NOT, I repeat, NOT the zone files, s3d's, obj's etc.. I am talking about the readme file that tells how to get them to work in the EMU, along with the database sql and whatever else there was.

Again, NOT the PoP files themselves.

Grats, you have received most of Planes of Power..

This contains about 3/4 of the zones, enjoy them.

You must use test server code to use Planes of Power, so connect using testeverquest.exe get those files
and then when starting eqw you can click use test server, or the patchme feature on testeqgame.exe

EQEMu does support the test server code, however, you must source the planes.sql file to the database.

You do this by entering your database using mysql.exe, then typing source planes.sql (with planes.sql in your
x:\mysql\bin directory)

Have fun!

It says EQemu does not support the test server code but it clearly does.. all i did to play PoP on EQEmu was extract the planesofpower.zip file into my EQ folder, overwrite all the files, replace eqhost.txt with EQemu's, run EQW and click the option "Play on Test Server", then run eqw, connect, join Forever-Hacking server and bingo.. i can zone to PoP
