Default Can't connect to SoD Server.

Hey Everyone, for some reason I can't connect to the logon server for some reason. I know I have everything set right, at least I hope lolz.

EQGame.exe (Short Cut) Command Line:
Code:
"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme
EQHost.txt File:
Code:
[LoginServer]
Host=www.tsahosting.net:5999
I have the SoD client installed from the digital download I got from Station.EQ's website. so its legit not sure whats wrong really its strange to because now with my other copy of Titanium/SoF I can't connect to the login.eqemulator.net:5998 either or even the www.tsahosting.net:5998 or 5999 port's. very strange, it used to work just fine but now all a sudden after a few months of getting back on it's not working for me or my brother so if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Thanks!

*Edit* forgot to mention, when I go to the logon screen and type my username/password in it just hangs there on the "eqemulator.net:5998" one and "www.tsahosting.net:5998" as well and also now "login.eqemulator.net:5999" not sure whats the issue with that.

The only version of SoD that is compatible with EQEmu is the one from Steam, not the one from SOE. Though, if you have the eqhost.txt set correctly, you will still be able to log in and at least see the server list.

When you log into the www.tsahosting.net:5999 Login Server, does it also just hang there? That is what you should ideally be using. Though, unless you have been in-game to set the #setlsinfo, you won't have an account on tsahosting.net, so you will get a bad username/password message. If you are getting that message, then you have it set correctly. If you aren't getting that message and it just hangs trying to connect, then you have another issue. If you are playing from a dorm or work, or any place that might use a proxy, it is possible that they are now blocking the required ports to play. Make sure you don't have port 5999 blocked on your firewall/router and aren't doing any type of port forwarding for that port range or anything.

Also, since you bought SoD from the wrong place, you may not be able to use it. Though, if you are able to patch to the current EQLive client, you will be able to play on servers that are up to the latest source code, as I just last night finished adding in most of the rest of the stuff to be able to play with a Live patched client. It still needs a bit more work, but it is already pretty functional and playable. Live patched clients can already play on my server, Storm Haven, and probably on PEQ soon as well, and maybe others.

Honestly, I've tried forwarding the ports (I'm here at home) and its never done this before. Before with SoF I could play and I haven't been able to play in months because of my computer being down, and also my bro can't play either for some reason and he only has the TiTi-Game, so its confusing for us because we had chars on Storm Heaven and Scars of Aramous? or something like that. I miss playing! lolz. but hopefully we can't figure this out.

When I connect with
Code:
login.eqemulator.net:5998 or 5999
it just hangs on "Trying to connect...". and I've turned off my firewall and forward the ports and everything and it still doesn't work. I've left everything the same and just all a sudden its doing this. I thought it had to do something with my acct cuz I made a new one on here thinking that was it maybe ya'll had a server change or something but nope that wasn't it. So not really sure guys let me know what you think.

Thanks.

EQEmu does not support the one from Sony download. Only the one from Steam. Here's the link to :

Castwolve2013,

Normally when it hangs like that, it is because you are on a patched client. Try setting your eqhost.txt to point to the tsahosting.net:5999 Login Server and see if it hangs or if it gives you the bad username/password error.

Also, I normally use www.eqemulator.net:5998 for my Titanium clients, but I don't know if that makes any difference from the login.eqemulator.net one.

You don't want to be forwarding any ports. So, if your router has any port forwarding set in it, try disabling it. Also, you may want to power-cycle your modem and router to make sure you don't have a routing issue.

Hey Trevius,

When I connect with
Code:
tsahosting.net:5999
it just gives me the "Error - username and/or password were not vaild..." So not sure what that means. Even if I we're to try to connect with
Code:
www.eqemulator.net:5998
with my Titanium client I will still not be able to connect it just hangs there trying to connect.. and I've tried doing the power-cycle and restarting the router aka un-plugging the power from the router and modem and its enternet cable's as well for alteast 15 mins then plug everything back in and it still doesn't work. I've tried everything, uninstalling everything and reinstalling everything correctly and it still doesn't work so I don't know what else to do.

Let me know,

Thanks again.

If your Titanium client hangs when trying to log into the eqemulator.net Login Server, that means 1 of 2 things:

1. Your Titanium was not installed directly from the retail CDs as is required for EQEmu. Maybe you downloaded Titanium from SOE or somewhere else. That won't work.

2. Or, you patched your Titanium install, even just a bit by mistake.

It has to be a fresh unpatched Titanium installation directly from the retail CDs for that client to work.

As for SoD, that one doesn't work because you have to register an account on the tsahosting.net Login Server in order to use it. And the only way to register an account on it is to get onto Storm Haven or PEQ in-game and use the #setlsinfo command.

I've honestly onwed EQ for almost 12 years now I think I have the retail CD's.
and honestly about the patched thing I never patched it. it just all a sudden one day I went to try and connect and bam! it says I can't so I'm just like wtf. cuz I've played on Storm Haven before just it doesn't let me connect so idk.

I guess I can whip out the ol' discs yet again and reinstall don't really see the point sincing I've done this almost 30 times already.
