Default eqgame.exe not accessing eqhost.txt upon running

Hi,

the problem is as stated in the thread title.
I followed the set-up guide. Underfoot is installed on steam but not patched; my eqgame.exe shortcut has "patchme" written as an addendum without quotes; and my eqhost.txt file is changed as specified.

However, eqhost.txt does not appear to be accessed upon running eqgame.exe, and as such, I receive the sony launcher. The only files in my EQ directory that appear to be read when running the program (sorting by "Date Accessed") are eqclient.ini, eqlsPlayerData.ini, and UIErrors.txt.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you create a shortcut for eqgame.exe and add 'patchme' without the ' at the end of the target?

Better double check the shortcut. Sounds like you're running Everquest.exe or Launchpad.exe.

You probably also need to check the client version against the list here since the download available on Steam is not currently compatible with the emu. http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...ClientVersions

the first line of my dbg.txt file reads as,
[Wed Jul 31 14:34:31 2013]00000:Starting EverQuest (Built Jun 8 2010 16:44:32)
which matches the date on the wiki for underfoot.

my shortcut is for eqgame.exe:
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme
is what the properties reads (copy-pasted).

Copy it out of the steam folder as you were recommended to do.
