Default Launcher not reaching webserver

Getting error messages when opening EQemu launcher for P1999.

"Could not reach webserver. Trying again in 10 seconds."

Been trying for 20 minutes now.

Close it up and I try again and same thing. It is loading config checking for updates and then gets stuck at Loading serverlist. Also states that there is an error while retrieving newest version.

Now it is at least saying version 1.24 is up to date.

Well, http://moestaverne.com is taking a while to load, if that's the website the launcher uses.

If you have the required files, then you can always manually connect to the P1999 server through the actual EQ client (See EQEmu/P1999 'Getting Started').
I assume you've previously used the launcher to connect, so you should have the required custom files.

Moestaverne was getting DDOSed. This was from having the old launcher that services P1999 up and running.

I have brought this up to him a few times recently and we made a few quick adjustments.

First, we shut down the launcher that was feeding P1999 because it was getting DDOSed quote frequently.

A new download is available and with that download you will actually be able to play the game if an API request fails.

We're also talking about doing a clustering type of option.

Either way, it is a recently known issue with someone attacking the launcher services and we're working on it.

Thanks

Again, if there isn't a required patch that needs to be downloaded, just connect to manually.

How about okay.

Still, I think they should learn how to do it manually so they won't have to entirely depend on the launcher. It's certainly helpful to know this basic information when things like this happen.
