Installation of 2.4-Prerelease3?

I have the older version (0.2.3 I believe), and have read that it dosen't work (I'm still having trouble getting it running to find out if it does have problems...), so I went and grabbed 2.4-Prerelease3, but I dunno how to install it over the other files?

I've looked and almost NO files from 2.4-Prerelease3 match the ones from 0.2.3 - what do I do to get this new version working?

As always, any help is GREATLY appreciated!
