Default Win CVS -- Setup.exe File Missing?

Hello all,

Trying to setup my own personal server and it seems that I have hit a road block. Thus far, I have sucessfully downloaded all the required components for setting up the server. Then, I proceeded to the next step which was to install WinCVS. After I extract the files from the WinCVS zip file I downloaded, I then search for the wincvs_setup.exe file, but it is no where to be found. I looked through each folder and did a search multiple times with no sucess. I have also tried reinstalling WinCVS to no avail. Could it be possible that I have downloaded a corrupt version of the software? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just updated the download link for WinCvs in the Wiki as the old one was outdated.
Try again...

Thank you. That worked perfectly. However, I have another issue. I installed the Active Perl without a problem and proceeded to the next step which is installing MySQL V5.0.45. I downloaded this version and searched for the file: mysql-essential-5.0.45-win32. Again, it is not in the directory, or even in the C drive. Should I download and install the latest version of MySQL and see if that will work? Thank you in advance for any input.

Problem solved. Latest version of MySQL cleared that issue up. Thanks again.

If you are running the latest version of MySQL you are going to have issues most likely. I would recommend downgrading to 5.0.

Agreed.

I'm using version 5.0.67 which works nicely.

Well, everything was going fine until I reached the part where I must source in my database, which is the peq database, to MySQL. I run the command prompt from Run on the Start Menu and type in cod\peq_db and the command prompt reads this: The system cannot find the path specified. Though I download both the peq_db and peq_quests files on to my C Drive, th command prompt still does not recognize the path. Any ideas on this one?

Disregard that last post. There is a spelling in the guide, the command should be cd C:\peq_db, not cod.

It appears I have run into another problem. When I click on the start application shortcut on my desktop to start the server, only the Wait for world to finish loading window opens up and when I press enter, it closes. Any ideas?

Click on Start/Run, enter cmd to open a command prompt, then cd \<directory where your world.exe is> and then type world to execute it.

Hopefully you don't take this as me trying to be rude, but if you do not know how to run a file from a command prompt, running a server probably isn't going to be an easy task for you. It takes some serious time depending on what you are planning to do and even very technical people wind up investing lots of time to resolve certain issues they encounter.

Just trying to let you know ahead of time.
