Very basic question sorry, what is EQEmu ?

but can someone please explain what EQEmu is plz ??

Its an emulator.. it lets you run an eq server that people can connect up to...

Can I use it one PC at home, and log into it from my
other PC, thats networked to it ? Also, does it mess
with any files used online that Verant could tell that
ive used 3rd part software, as I have 55+ chars on
EQ that I dont want to jeopardise.

I want to use it so my 10 year old son can have a
play to get used to it, without the hastle of other
people annoying him or training onto him ??

Yeah you can, and no they can't detet it unless you run around /shouting EQEMU ROCKS GOTO www.EQEMU.ORG I USE IT!

Now my last question, and im sorry if I still sound dumb, but is it
very difficult to use?? Im pretty good with computers, no ideas
with programming etc though?? I guess what im saying is, is it
just run EQEmu.exe on PC No1, and then Run EQ on PC No2 and
it will connect ?

Just needed an answer to this, as if its too hard, i`ll probably be
sending Sony my next paycheck again hehe :(

its not really difficult , it only require some reading (win32 forum or http://www.stormgod-online.com/readme.pdf ) to get it working
this , and not using the latest patch . when a new version get out , patch your everquest , then make a backup of it and dont patch till next version
or use a complete backup to use with the emu and a regular to play on EQlive
