Default Adding mobs into zones...

Ok i am a noob (omg, how many times have you guys heard that =P)
But! i have been searching the fourms for a bit now,
Anyway my question is:

How do you add mobs into a zone? (example: I am trying to replace
all of rivervale with enemy npcs, and failing horribly)
I want them to be stay in there i want them to respawn etc etc...

I have my server up and going and now i am trying to customize zones.
This probably is a dupilcate post somewhere and if there is another
thread explaining all of the i appologize now.

Please Help ^_^

Get GeorgeS' tools for NPC editing (and his other tools are excellent as well) and search for Rivervale. Then, you can edit the existing spawns in the zone to the race, class, level, etc etc that you want set for the zone. It is much easier than spawning the entire zone from scratch.

You can then target the NPCs in game and move them to where you want them using the #spawnfix command, and then use #repop for the change to take effect. You also might want to use GeorgeS' spawn editor to adjust spawn times and PHs and what-not. Give the tools a try and you should have an easy time with it. GeorgeS even has a nice spawning tutorial posted at the bottom of his website and it includes a pathing guide on how to create NPC pathing.

Use the #spawn command to spawn your mob then walk to the location you want them to stand at and face the direction they will be facing and do the #summon command. Then target the NPC and do #npcspawn create and #npcspawn update (I usually make hotkeys for this). Then leave the zone, come back and do a #repop for good measure. The default respawn timer is roughly 20 minutes I believe. To fix this I think you go into the npc_types table, though I could be wrong and find the column labeled "respawn" and change the time IN SECONDS to what you want it to be (for example a 5 minute respawn timer would be 300 seconds).

That's about as brief as I can be, PM me if you need any more help or I could hop on your server and show you.

Talking Thank you for your time!

Ahhh, i will give these both a shot right now! Thank you!!

On a side note have you ever had a problem with #npcedit delete
then when you try to zone out and back in,
it crashes the zone and players that try to enter it?

Never had that problem.... You could try manually deleting it from the DB?

Anytime I delete an NPC, I do so from GeorgeS tool, or just use the spawn editor to remove it from the zone.
