Question Spells not

Hi all,

I seem to having an interesting issue that I have not run into before. Ive been running PEQ Server Pack for the longest time with no issues. I recently built another server and reinstalled everything using the 1129 rev 233 server pack update (on top of the base install) and Perl 5.8.8.822.

The server works great, quests, zones etc. the only thing that doesn't seem to work is that its not loading any spells. #scribespells does not work nor does #scribespell. Using #spfind informs me that the spells are not loaded.

I have tried several spells_us.txt and spells_en.txt files with the same results. The DB seems to function otherwise perfectly. I've tried changing perl versions etc with the same results :(

I'm using everything I had previously been using including the same version numbers.

I'm not sure what the issue is, it's probably something stupid =)

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I don't know what that version is set to, but recently another way to load spells was added. The new way loads them from a database table named new_spells. The old way loaded them from a file called spells_us.txt. I am guessing the PEQ pack uses the old way. Make sure you put the spells file in your eqemu directory. Without that file, it won't be able to load spells and you would have the problem you are having.
