Which steps are you referring to ? We need links to the guide you are going by.

We are not mind readers, what exactly have you done ? Have you edited your eqhost.txt and if so, post that here.

Also you left out what client you are trying to work with (TIT, SOD, SOF, UF), etc...

Sorry, I thought http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...akka=PlayGuide would be obvious. I also followed the first steps in the Project1999 guide http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2651 up until customizing it for look and feel. I have not edited the eqhost.ini file, only the eqhost.txt file.

That is the one I was referring to. Paste exactly what you have in the eqhost.txt file into this post. Also we still need to know which client.

Make sure nothing is blocking access to port 5998. Temporarily disable any firewalls.

Tried disabling my firewall and it still didn't work. I'm thinking maybe I have to allow access through my router. I typed in 5998 as the internal and external port yet it still doesn't work. Ps thanks for the help by the way.

If your hardwire firewall is blocking it, but I would doubt it, there is a disable somewhere. Most hardware firewalls block incoming, but not outgoing access.

Ok now I swear I have Titanium, but I decided to try port 5999 and for some reason it worked. Thanks for suggestions though, I appreciate it.
