Default Strange Server Lag

Hey guys,

I play on Zippzipp's and love it to pieces. However, as of late I have experienced this really strange problem that I am hoping to get some help with.

Zippzipp's has bots enabled, so every 1 character will have 5 bots. When I am in a raid with 2 (maybe 1, but still happens with 3) other people, making a total of at least 18 bots, after some time, I will start getting this weird server lag. 90% of the time it will require me to /exit. If I am fighting a mob while the lag sets in (usually it only sets in when fighting a mob) I will need to reboot client to see the corpse. If I do not reset my client, I will see the mob at 0% and alive. This will happen whether or not I am running MQ. I am running on UF client and have yet to try it out on any other client, mostly because I don't want to play on Titanium. The impression I got from Zipp is that this was because of the server, but I find it hard to believe servers would be unable to have 18 toons in one spot at one time. However, in the situation where I was grouped with someone who was running 2, he wasn't lagging at all on the kills. I lagged out completely and he never lagged at all. This is what makes me think it is me. The internet I usually use it pretty bad, but I switched to my 4g interenet on my phone, which gets like 20 mbps and it was the same problem. I don't really know what else it could be, but if you have experienced this/know a fix/have any thoughts, please, let me know. Also, Zipp has it's own spell file and dbstr file, if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance,
Sunlight

This forum is not for server-specific issues, you should speak with Zippzipp about that, send him a private message here.

I'm fully aware of the purpose of this forum. However, my purpose in asking here is to see if anyone has encountered a similar issue and might know of what could be causing this, as I am not convinced it is server side, given how it only affects me in a given situation.

It would likely be server-sided because it's lag-related; therefore, you would have to speak directly to the owner about this. Asking players if they have a similar experience will not fix your issue; however, speaking with the owner will.

Apparently I wasn't clear enough in my original post, because I have spoken to Zipp about this, and he isn't sure what is going on either. And if it is server-side, then I am curious to see what people who are more experienced than me with this stuff will say about it, especially considering in the circumstances I've described it will only affect me and not other players. I am not looking to argue whether or not this is necessary. I am simply looking for some opinions when no one my server, including Zipp, has any to offer.

If you've spoken with Zippzipp and he cannot fix it, have you taken a look at your internet speed? Also, is this only occurring on Zippzipp's server, or any server?

I usually play on a pretty slow internet connection (less than 5 mbps), but in attempting to troubleshoot it I switched to my 4g internet on my phone, which gets 20 mbps doownload and 5 mbps upload speed. I haven't tested it on any other server, because I don't really play on any other server, especially not one where I can easily get 18 toons together to test the issue.

Ah, okay, well there's nothing more I can do to help.

Further testing is needed, but this doesn't seem to happen to me on Titanium.

Everquest was designed to run on 56k. Unless your ping is sky high it's likely not your connection. 5mbps is plenty to play any game.

It's plenty possible for it to be connection issues but I'm not the host so it's impossible for me to test anything.
