Default Annoying glitch preventing me from playing

I downloaded the patcher, but when i run it, it says in red:

CANNOT FIND DISCARD.LOG

then it patches, and says everything is good and loads.

After which, i go into the server select screen, pick a server, it loads for a minute, then i get an error message that says "Everquest.exe caused an error and must be shut down, we appologise for this inconvenience. any data that has not been saved will be erased" or something like that. Then i crash to desktop!! its so annoying!!! And it works on all my friend's computers. I am using XP, what is going wrong??

That's not a problem with the SQL. That is a problem with the poor coding of the client. Try deleting your eqgame.exe and repatching (I assume the EQEmu patcher has the correct version of eqgame.exe). That may help. Otherwise, I'd know what to tell you for EQLive, but not EQEmu.
