Mcafee used to think I had a virus because my boot sector was infected with linux.

Bios viruses are not unheard of, there were a few floating around a couple years ago, stealthc and I forget the names of the others. If you really think it's a virus of some sort. Create an emergency virus scan disk on someone else's computer and boot with the disk and scan the drive most include a bios scan as well.

If you dont want to go through that Just put in a bootable disk do a fdisk, delete all partitions, create a new partition and then format it. Once you do that install what ever flavor of windows you want.

Of course you do haveto get windows to boot first.....:P
