Sometimes you want to play EQ for free, sometimes you want to mess around...

Default reguarding to the above...

When someone said that you can create your own server, just for your privet use only... would that be able to be played offline? because i have AOL, and my mom hates me online all the time playing a "stupid" game as she says..

So if i was able to create a privet server of my own that i could play offline, that would be super

(i have a fair amount of computer knowlage btw)

you still need an internet connection to play technically since it runs off your internet, and I highly doubt you could support a server with AOL if my highspeed connection and 3.0ghz computer with over a gig of ram could barely handle my own server.

In response to the title,

Yes.

I know how excited and how much fun I had when I could play non-legit and check out all the zones I hadn't been to on live. But after a few days I did basically everything I wanted to do and it just got boring. Getting to 65 with great gear becomes trivial.

I don't want to play EQLive again though, I was level62 when I sold my account and I did almost everything.... so thats why I'm waiting for people to make something different, i.e. Guildwars 2 which I'm looking forward to.

I think the terms "Non-Legit", "Semi-Legit", and "Legit" are a little hazy. Most people I see refer to Legit as being an exact replica... I personally think of it more like Cheat-Free (no #summonitem, #level, #setskill, etc), but not necessarily EQLive.

I think the great part about non legit servers is the ability to get revenge on certain mobs. Like me personaly when i was leveling my ranger on EQlive I would bind in NK and level up in SK. every time i die in SK i would spawn at the gypsie camp and sure enough grimfeather was there and he would kill me, then i would spawn and get killed again some times it would go on untill i logged off. Its such a joy to be able to sit there and punish him in the same way. I could go on also about frost giants at the nexus port in at GD but any way getting revenge for stuff like that is FUN!!!!!
