Umm, sorry for sounding like a newbie, what what is this thing? What does EQEmu actually do?

it emulates a server of everquest so you can connect to free servers . right now it emulates I would say 70% of the real server before luclin (AA need a bunch of work ;P )

Lets you explore zones and see mobs that you would otherwise NOT EVER (quest) get to see.

EQEmu was designed so that you could play EverQuest on your own server or someone else's but without paying a fee or being restricted to what you can do .. the actual program emulates what a real server what do when the client sends and recieves data, because its open source alot of things can be added that were not available on Live servers..
