Server Crashing Out of Memory

I've done a basic linux server install but the server keeps crashing after a few hours of light usage due to out of memory errors. My server has 2GB of RAM which I was told was overkill for EQ. Was I misinformed and I need more than 2GBs for a few people to mess around on it? Or is there potentially something I've setup wrong? I'll post the specific out of memory error next time it happens.
