Need help please everything is black

I can log on to play eq, but at the character select screen i can see nothing but my character's name and when i log in all i see are my ui, npc names, and light sources such as torches and particles everything else is black.Anyone know how to fix the problem im using everquest patched to live then backpatched to Short version SEQ12167.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
