Default What can you do with OpenZone?

I thought I would show an example of what you can do with OZ. This is the latest to come out of the S2K camp. It was designed by Myra. I helped with objects and lighting.

The terrain is based on Manhattan Island. As we have done before, we used the DEM file and converted it to a scaled representatioin. We've done this before with Mars (actual terrain from the planet Mars) and Juno (terrain from southeast Alaska).

The "world" (stargate related, if you are familiar with the S2K stargate system) consists of 2 zones, North Manhattan and South Manhattan. They are big, and packed with interesting areas.

The story is that long ago there was a great city here. A goddess named Lauren cursed the city out of jealousy. All buildings were turned to stone, the residents were turned into monsters. You start at the southernmost point and work your way north to the lighthouse, where (at the top) you will confront Lauren.

You arrive by stargate in South Manhattan. Exploring you find the ruins of the once great city.

More in the next post.
