Problem with lan play

Client on server works great, but when I try client to server over LAN is when the fireworks start.
My problem is that when I connect to my server I have this weird super run fast, do everything fast. This is out of control fast just tapping the keyborad sends you across the zone. My character just slides instead of running, also all the NPC's move this way too. I turned GM speed off on this account too.
If I run the client again from the server it works great. Has anyone seen this problem or is it me?
