Reverting from 0.3.4 to 0.3.3.1. ... Can it be done?

I got the new 3.4 the other day and set it up. Ran EQ and got the "incorrect version, please patch" error. So I think to myself, "I can just copy the 3.3.1 files back into my emu directory." It seems that this won't work for some reason or another. I have not patched the client in about 6-8 months I guess. I did read a post though about a patch after 060502 won't work with the emu. So I made a new emu directory and patched the new set of client files to the current patch, just in case. So now I have one emu dir with 6-8 month old client that ran 3.3.1 great ( no version error ) until I loaded 3.4, and one emu dir with current patch that gives a version error with 3.4. So, my questions is.... is there a way for me to switch back to 3.3.1 until the emu catches up with the current patch?
