Having trouble creating character.

I recently starting playing around with EQemu, i followed the guide on how to get started, until i got the the create character place, clicking create character does nothing, clicking delete character also does nothing, i obviously cant enter the game because i have no character, and the button 'quit' does work. Im not sure what the problem is.
