Default Networking questions

Ok. Here's what I have. 2 machines running win 2k, one client and one server.

The server machine is directly connected to the internet via my ISDN line. The client machine is connected to it by ethernet. They share the net connection.

Reason I did this was to have either the entire server or just the zone servers on a seperate machine from the Everquest Client to avoid letting it get bogged down.

Here's the problem. I have the world server on my client machine. Everything boots up fine. When I try to log into my server via eqemu login, it can't be seen. I don't think my server machine is routing the connection properly and tosses the user out with a 1017.

Anyone else who's used multiplt win2k machines, what can be done to fix this problem? I don't have a hardware router or a firewall. Is the server acting as a router in this?
