Default Running under Windows 7

The previous message on OZ reminded me of my experiences with it. I played around with this a bit, and am quite impressed.

Version 8.5 crashes on export (as mentioned in other threads). I could not get this version to export, but it could save .scn files just fine.

Version 8.4 on the other hand exported (to s3d) just fine, when running in Windows 2000 compatibility mode. I didn't try other compatibility modes, since I read somewhere that Windchaser used Win2K.

To view the help files (and the tutorial) under Win7, download the following:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ils.aspx?id=91

Microsoft kept griping about validation when I used Chrome. (I have an otherwise activated and validated copy of Windows). When I switched to IE I had no problems downloading and installing the help browser.

When installing the texture packs, install all of them. It is easy to assume that the last version of the pack is the one to use, but these are incremental (there is no overlap in file names among the packs).

And the last piece of info: Create an empty folder "eqemu_maps" in the same folder as the executable (as a peer to library, zones and scenes). This is where OZ wants to place map files.
