Problems with installing the game

For some reason I'm unable to install my copy of EQ:titanium. I pop in the cd and run the installer, the "sony online entertainment" logo pops up for a brief 3 seconds then disappears. I've tried running the installer in all compatibility modes (windows 7) to no avail. It never proceeds any further than the "SOE" logo.
