Magician - Focuses their mana on chaotic magic, unable to control their great elemental power. Many of their spells have random effects

Bard - Classic jack of all trades, master of none... they can really do it all though

Druid - Gains the ability to shapeshift into several forms, granting the ability to tank, melee, cast, or heal

Monk - Monks are more of a hybrid healer/dps, with healing abilities that cost endurance

Necromancer - Why change what isnt broken... These necros have a similar playstyle to traditional EQ, however they still have a bunch of new spells as well as tweaks to existing

Warrior - The classic tank that excels at avoiding damage

Shadowknight - The dps knight. Still able to take a beating, but able to give one right back. This knight even gets the ability to dual wield at later levels.

Paladin - Paladins are the more conservative knights. They focus more on heals than damage.

Cleric - Still the master of healing, this class has solid buffs and strong heals

Shaman - Shamans get a boatload of unique spells, from summoning a totem that is able to replicate single target spells onto your group, to throwable healing potions, to AE rez

Ranger - a true ranger, where a bow is what they know. these rangers focus on keeping distance between the target and them while shooting them down with their bows and spells.

Enchanter - Enchanters focus granting their group members powerful illusions that are capable of assisting in every situation.

Rogue - Melee class focused on melee and spell damage, dealing significantly more damage with poisons and a good deal of utility.

Berserker - DPS powerhouse, however, as the berserker does more damage he opens himself up to taking more damage. Not advised for solo play or new players to NFP.

Wizard - a "hidden" class with a unique playstyle... must be unlocked via quest

Beastlord - Focused on "being at one with their companion", beastlords are designed around the player providing buffs to their pet, while the pet provides buffs to the player. harmonizing on the strengths of the pet and player, the beastlord is a great soloer, and is eventually able to focus their pet into performing a variety of different roles
