We have 5160 characters on Foreverhacking right now (As of 1:44pm CST On Feb 28, 2003). It just depends how long your system has been up on how many characters you have. Back when Hogiebane was around (which Foreverhacking is running on the same hardware now btw), I had 10000+ characters on the server.
I for one, dont have time to GM a server, that is why I handed the administration off to someone else for Foreverhacking. I just maintain the network and hardware, and keep my status 255 account anonymous so I don't have to answer "Can I be a GM?".
You have to remember, someone is paying for this. It has been great the last 2 months, I have broken even on the hosting fees and new server hardware costs, because of you guys. I thank you for that. Now, with a new job coming up, we should be on the way to easy gliding unless someone makes something that pisses Sony off to make them come after me (again).
With enough skill on your part, you can make eqemu into anything you want it to be. With the new quest system, and the guildwars mod, we will have a very nice server coming up soon (again) and will probably be a better place to truely play everquest instead of playing evercamp. That's just my 2 cents worth.
