Is that 1017 really the problem of the server?

I myself cannot join any server and of course mine.
The client I used is downloaded from emule
and I can't solve the problem with solutions found
here and some other forum.

I just got the original game without any expansion
and have it updated through everquest.exe

Can anybody tell me if I have anything do wrong?
