Try to get familiar

i am a noob to the game of Ever Quest and am slowly getting familiar with the terminology or jargon of the game. I previously played Ultima Online and so some of it is second nature but others are specific to EQ.

I have gotten sort of familiar with the term pulling and twisting, but can someone enlighten me on the term "KITING"

Whay does it mean, through reading forum posts and other texts i havent been able to pick up it's meaning yet.

Also i am deciding to start a Half Elf Bard, any tips for a new commer? I realise that a Bard is rather a full on character and is quite difficult to play for a new player but it's what i have decided to play based on my previous playing of online games and he appealed to me. Any help would be greatly apreciated.
