Can't run EqEmuPatcher, have WinXP and SP1

I am very greatful to any able to help me. I am at the poinr where I have downloaded the patcher into my intended EQ directory. I try to run it and I get message along the lines of it's not a valid Win32 application or something( note: I am using WinXP) I downloaded and installed mdac_typ from eqemu and restared comp, but not a thing changed. Thanks to anyone who can help me!
