Why can't I connect to any servers

I finally got eqemu to work, and I logged in and got to the server list, but whenever i click on a server, the screen goes black, and then right back to windows, does anyone know what is going on? or do I just keep trying to connect, and hope I get lucky? any help would be much appreciated, thank you
