localhost = 127.0.0.1 ...
But since I had the same problem using both localhost and 127.0.0.1 like you have I'd suggest changing all of them to either localhost or 127.0.0.1 not mix and matched.
Here is my boot5zones.bat:
REM:--------------Start-----------------------
@echo off

if NOT exist spells_us.txt goto NOSPELL

start zone . 127.0.0.1 8780 127.0.0.1
start zone . 127.0.0.1 8781 127.0.0.1
start zone . 127.0.0.1 8782 127.0.0.1
start zone . 127.0.0.1 8783 127.0.0.1
start zone . 127.0.0.1 8784 127.0.0.1
exit
cls

:NOSPELL
echo You did not copy the spells_en.txt from your everquest directory to this one. Please do so or zones will crash on startup.
PAUSE

REM:---------------END------------------------

Hereis my db.ini:

[Database]
host=127.0.0.1
user=*********
password=********
database=eq

Here is my loginserver:

[LoginServer]
loginserver=127.0.0.1
loginport=5999
loginport2=5999
worldname=Chris is the best
worldaddress=127.0.0.1
locked=false
account=
password=

[WorldServer]
Defaultstatus=
Unavailzone=

[ChatChannelServer]
worldshortname=
chataddress=
chatport=

[LoginConfig]
ServerMode=StandAlone
ServerPort=5999

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////

With mine like this all is good and dandy....

Cool thanks for the info. Do you have your eqhost.txt file set with 127.0.0.1 also or localhost? The other question I had was, does only the .dll files and the eqgame.exe file the only ones that affect if emu works or not? Like if I backed up all the .dll and eqgame.exe and thats it, could I roll back if I needed with just those files and get emu working? I didn't know if other files in the directory affected anything, like .ini files and such. Thanks.

One last thing, why does it seem everyone's boot5zone.bat file have different ports on them? Does it matter what ports, as long as they're opened up on your router?

Are your boot5zone.bat ports and 9000 the only ones to open up on your router?

For some reason I find that when using minilogin, if you change the name of your server you will not be able to log in to it. I don't know if this is by design or what, but I thought I'd mention that since you're having troubles. I believe the server name on the loginserver.ini should read "Name of server here". Maybe I'm doing something wrong but every time I couldn't connect, it was because I changed that name to something else.
