same problem here...
jist of it: run minilogon, world, boot5blabla.bat, login successful. see my (singleplayer/lan-only) server available, try to logon but hangs and gives me the 1017.
the irony is that I have been able to log into 1 legit world just fine without any errors, so i'm 99.9% this isn't a problem with the 5/11 live patch. Could be wrong, had to do several system restores, reinstall eq:evo, and copy select portions of an EQlive install.
I'd be interested in knowing what problems a broken or incomplete database can cause as well...
