how to back up my patch

hi every one,
so I just got the eq game, I set up on my computer, and I patched it to live, now, I need to make a back up copy of the patch, so that I will stay with eqemu. do I have to download the patch from live in a specefic way. or is it just that I have to back up the whole directory of eq on my hard drive.

Save a copy of the whole directory just to be sure

Thats where it's at, I keep mine on a DVD also just to be absolutly sure I never have to worry about the dreaded unsupported client again.
