Sorry but, i don't make help in msn, Aol or Irc because my english is very bad and i must think long time before post (that help to correct some language fault but my english isn't better lol).

For linux, i'm only a "light" user.

I started Eqemu with windows version in january 2005. It was hard, but i learn some mysql and perl things (I didn't know this before).
Very tired by the lack of windows compiled version, i make a debian sarge install, and try to compil eqemu CVS on it. After many many try that work fine but i don't say "i'm linux specialist". I think i have many luck, but now i prefer work on linux than windows. A friend (not on eqemu) help me and make a Ruby interface (he don't like php :p) for control and custom my server Froggy.
For linux, i can say, don't follow a guide line bye line but TRY to understand what you make and why you make that. thats help much !

Only advice i can give for all person making a server is PATIENCE ! I start my server in january and 1 year later i'm always at work

Also You can succeed !
