Cant log in and im confused

At first i didnt think iw as supposed to patch because of what it says so i didnt, but then when i tried to log in after doing everything said it told me that the username and/or password was incorrect. What i did was i just installed titanium and then i made the eqhost file the correct one and i made a shortcut of the eqgame.exe and turned the target to the correct one. It didnt work, so now im patching to see if it will work then. Please tell me what is going on!

Well patching makes it so you cant play EQEmu, so hope your planning on playing live.

well u have to register in the login server... go into the wiki playing the guide there is a link there

did you add the patchme comment on your shortcut?

I've tried everything even the patchme after the " isn't working. It just connects to Sony and begins patching anyway. I have no clue what to do. I keep wasting time uninstalling and reinstalling eq titanium... Also, I might add that I have two versions of EQ on my computer. I have the latest version I play on eq servers and I now have titanium under directory C:/Emulator. Could it be possible that it's patching the most current version instead of the titanium version even though I'm selecting the eqgame.exe file from the c:/emulator directory?

You guys need to read and follow instructions is all - there's like a gazillion posts on this same thing, not to mention, the wikki couldn't be any more clear on explaining this.
You have to use "eqgame.exe patchme" and not "everquest.exe patchme" . also you have to change the settings in eqhosts.txt file.
If you use eqgame.exe, the patcher will not run.

in my case I just wrote a bat file that did what I wanted.

cd %eq_emu_path%
eqgame.exe patchme

Or if you like the windows shortcuts you can make one for the eqgame.exe by right clicking on it and move to desktop (create shortcut). That makes the shortcut now let's make it EMU friendly by right clicking on it and going to the shortcut tab. Where it says target move to the end after the " and add in "patchme" w/o the "'s.

Either of these two should make you an eq shortcut that's ready for Emulation. Just besure to keep it seperated (ala The Offspring) from your normal EQ install if you still play it on SOE's servers. Patching up to SOE will break it quite quickly.
