Well, I tried changing the host to resolve to the IP address and that didn't make a difference.
I finally got it working at least some of the time by messing with my eqclient.ini alot. I deleted it and added stuff to the fresh one that was made until it finally started working. It still seems to time out or LD every now and then when I zone or try to enter world, but so far it seems to work better. If it starts acting up again, I will reply with the status.

After playing for a few hours yesterday just fine, it's broke again now. I have been trying to get it working again for over an hour. Sometimes it seems that a reboot will get it working again after I have been making changes. I am just stumped here. Is it possible for someone to post their entire eqclient.ini configuration? I know it is illegal to ask for EQ files on this site, but I am just asking for a confuration, not any files.

Just delete it (the eqclient.ini file) or move it to the desktop. Then everytime you log in, it'll create a fresh one for you. Once you have everything the way you want, just log back out and save the file somewhere else so when it happens again, you can just replace it with the backup with all your saved settings.
I did notice that if you make changes to any of the option in the Options menu, then it's a good idea to log out by camping. If you /quit, you might corrupt your files again.
Works everytime for me so far.

I don't know, this issue seems so random. I worked another hour on this and had no luck, then I tried this fix from a post I found:
"For some reason my eqgame.exe has been liking to crash lately , not sure if anyone else has come across this. To fix it , open eqclient.ini in your everquest directory , go to the bottom and fix the default refresh rate from 0 to 60. ( or whatever resolution and refresh rate your monitor supports ) . Save eqclient.ini , then start eq in windowed mode ( alt-enter ) , works like a charm. For some reason DX9 is complaining about eq when it tries to display a screen resolution and refresh rate that doesn't make any sense to it. *shrug* was working fine before."
It worked 1 time, but after I logged the character out it booted me back to the login screen instead of character select. Then I tried to login again and I am back to my same issue... I tried to follow those steps again a few times and it isn't working anymore :(
Thanks for the suggestion Vales. I have tried multiple times to delete my eqclient.ini file and have it start from scratch, but that doesn't seem to make a difference for some reason.
I am not sure what else to do, so I may just format my hard drive and do a fresh install of windows XP and EQ Titanium. Maybe I will have better luck then....I hope...

This could also be a hardware problem - check for dust build-ups that could cause over heating in your machine. Also make sure all your cooling fans are clean and running - sometimes worn-out cooling fans run for a while, then freeze up (they appear to be running).
I've had similar problems like yours, caused by over-heating due to dust build-ups or worn out cooling fans. If you machine did overheat, it may be too late and the damage is already done.
Also wouldn't be a bad idea to scan for virus, get one of those online services that will give you a free online scan. If you have windows, http://www.bitdefender.com is a good one. http://www.f-prot.com gives away free Linux AV and a program for windows that has one month trial on it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am that heat isn't the issue, as I dustered my PC just last month. I built the PC myself and inspected it when I last cleaned it and everything seemed fine. Plus, I figure if it can handle Vanguard, it can handle EQ with 0 issues. I do think it could still be a hardware issue, maybe something to do with my SLI setup, I dunno. But if that was the case, it should be consistantly not working, instead of being random.
As far as a virus goes, I don't run anti-virus software, but I doubt that is the issue. I have seen 0 other issues on this PC, and I don't see any funny processes running in taskmanager. Also, I don't download anything dangerous to this PC, anything that might be risky get downloaded on my secondary PC and scanned for viruses there.
Hopefully the Windows rebuild will fix it at least.
Oh, and I also wanted to add that if I try using Quick Connect at the Login screen, instead of just using the Login and selecting a server, the game crashes and reports a problem with eqgame.exe. As long as I select and server and hit play, it just either goes black for 30 seconds at the server select screen, or just freezes up at the server select screen, for 30 seconds and both of them go back to the login screen after the freeze is done.
