i know that hqemu runs the zone and and is easy to use but it has no }ai{ now eqemu has problems user and what not but has a }ai{ whats to stop the 2 of u from gettin togather and making one that is easy to use and is more complete then what u or they have now like someone once said even the wisest of the wise can always be showed up

I may be mistaken but EQEMU runs zones and is easy to setup. People just have to read the instructions. That is all. I know it doesn't have little links for all the files in it but it is complete. Just read everything. If you need to download mysql read the page and make sure you are getting the Windows Installer and not some other os. It is things like the above that make it harder to setup. I do not know how easy it is to setup EthernalQuest(don't ban me Lyenu) but if people would take the time to read the readme.txt there wouldn't be as many problems.

I dont think the post was implying he couldnt get it working (at least not that I could tell) but it is a good thought. BOTH versions have thier strong points. if combined they would RIPP. But I am sure its more complicated than just plugging them together. I like hoe HQ version lets friend onto your server W/O being listed on a login server, thats kind of kool. I feel that (thus far) HQ version may be slightly more stable, but they have yet to impliment battle. It is a good thought though.

Well, the fact is that Zordon's stuff is done in Ruby, which is a scripting language alot like Python, not in C++ as eqemu is.

That makes it pretty much impossible to combine anything. At best someone that knew a decent amount of Ruby might be able to borrow some of Zordon's algorithms or way of doing things, but merging them into anything is pretty much impossible.

remember ur teachings man if the will is stroung and the mind is set then nothing is impossible if i remember i saw a post were hqemu was tryin or going to make theres c++ if they were to be set on the right path and helped the 2 emu could both benifite in my mind i am betting that eqemu and hq could really shine
i have messed with both i have hq one up and running to a point and i have eqemu up and running to a point in my view were hqemu stoped eqemu took off but eqemu is way to unstable and i have been doing some compairing between the 2 and like was said the courent version of hq is ruby and the courent version of eqemu is c++ BUT working togather u all have info that the other needs so write a new one lol easy for me to say i am not the one doing it but it just seams the 2 of u r so close and togather u could get one

even the unbreakable can be broken

and I bet you if I made EQEmu into one big GUI control center, that monitored and let you edit everything from it, you would jump around happy like the dickens, til you realized "awww, I still have to do mysql!".
