I'll try to remember to take a look at it. At the moment I'm working on adding user-settable keybindings, which is more work than one might think. There's a ton of infrastructure that I've had to add to get it all to work, but it's almost there now. Expect a release this weekend. Then I'm considering making the / commands localizable, but I'll try to remember to try buying something from a merchant while I'm testing. I suspect it's a database issue, but you never know. I've been dead wrong with my hunches before.
In case anyone's been keeping count, no, I haven't released the source yet, and I think I'd prefer to release it only to Scorp for the time being. Maybe he'll let Richardo have a peek or maybe not, it's up to him, if and when we ever get a private SVN up. And cole, in case you're wondering, I've been ignoring you. I don't consider it my place to ask people to be banned as I'm not always present (unless they're obvious spammers), but someone somewhere has saw fit to ban you a good half dozen times in the last couple of weeks, and frankly when I see someone continually create one identity after another after being banned, that just rubs me the wrong way and sends my mistrust-o-meter off into the red zone. I don't want to be the sole person working on this anymore but I simply don't trust you. I trust Scorp implicitly, so I think I'm going to start with him (or anyone he designates, if he gets back to me -- hint, hint) and then we'll see how things progress. I'm toying with the idea of converting more parts of the code to DLL's that can be opened up, but that sort of thing takes redesign and, put simply, time. Whatever gets opened up, feel free to mod it as you wish, but I've decided to proceed cautiously for now. I WANT to open the source, at least as much as possible, but I have to balance that against what are possibly legitimate server op issues.

Dont really know about Cole, however, I think you are making the right decision to be cautious about releasing the source. It would be great if it was just easily customizable for anything a serverOp might want to do, change classes and races, maybe change the entire genre of the game? Well perhaps not easily, but even dlls being OpeneSourced would be a great start, and would probably mean that in the end you wouldnt need to Open the source at all. Which inturn would mean that everyone is happy, they can edit what they need to and there is still enough security with the main course being closed enough to not allow people to exploit it too much.
I do have a request or suggestion, not entirely sure how much work it would be to impliment, but would it be possible to enhance the graphics engine? perhaps ad direct support for importing of other archive types? Or even direct import support for 3ds max and the other editors OpenZone supports?
I cant wait to see the new version comming out it should be a nice revision. Keep up the great work

Thanks for the trust Wind. Unfortunately I am everything but a coder. I am purely a 3d modeler and nothing more. The only code I know is actionscript 2/3.0, perl and html. I'd love to help out as much as I can on the modeling side however, the major issue right now is that my motherboard for my computer has fried. Luckily I have a new ASUS on the way and I'll have to re-setup my media center. I am well on the way to getting back up and I'll be spending a lot of time studying texture mapping and human anatomy.
PS: It would be nice to have a SVN repository. A model section, I could upload a lot of my own models. (I've been working on packs.)

If we can get an SVN up that we can all contribute to, I think things would improve quickly. That sucks to hear that your box died, and I hope you get up and running soon.
This is where I am right now. I have most things remappable, and as a bonus the commands will be localizable in the game text XML file. There are several new sections in it, and even the key list (both in terms of their names, their values, and what shows up in the key list) are configurable in the XML file. I still have to map emote commands and do some more work around them, map command parameters (like pet commands, "on", "off", etc.), but the bulk of the work is done. Multiple keystrokes can be mapped to a function, too, and it supports multiple command synonyms (e.g. "loc", "location", "l", etc.). It's all pretty slick.
I tested buying a spell from a merchant and it worked, so I think the merchant problem is a database issue.

I have not tried spells from merchants only the items in windszone for tradeskilling and the armor, can't imagine what the issue might be with it though, I was using the default db with 4.0.26 and I used the emu server you distributed. I will try a fresh install of everything after the new release, and see how it goes with that.
Is there a possiblity we could get a list of the Item icon ID's and succh as you have them setup so it is easier for people to edit the items table?

Why don't you host one of those svns on one of the free sites?
