Ok that error helped a bit. Puzzling anyway..

I recompiled a new test version that should work better.
Let me know if it works and where it breaks

I still get the same errors that were previously listed. Another that I noticed, was that I *think* that the quest list in c:\eqemu\quests is not being read. The reason that I say that is that poknowledge is not showing up on the dropdown list. The only po zone that is showing up is pofire.

This has been tried using perl 5.8.9 and perl 5.10.1. Reg cleans and dir deletes are being done between perl version tries.

Dunno if any of that makes a difference, but there ya go. Good luck.

When I was doing eqemu a few years back ( back when you were hosting your own site), the npc editor, the item editor and the quest editor were the only three tools I was using to make my worlds. So yea I really do appreciate your work.

Thanks

fdisk'd my computer. Reinstalled software to the same platform as my wife's, which can run the tools. It still won't work. Therefore, I am left with the thought that either it's the i5 or the Radeon 4600 that is getting in the way. I'm not in a position to change either right now. So I think I'm just SOL.

The version I uploaded a few days ago has error checking on the section where these crashes occur. Did you not see an error message appear when you ran it?

Sorry for the lateness in fixing this error, but it took a long time. I needed to update to the latest database and see the issue.

Quest Editor
ver 1.2.5 Fixed the error that crashed the program. Cause was due to SOD zones and very long descriptors

George - I'm also having this problem with the Quest tool crashing right when you launch it. Strange thing is - the link on your web site says it's version 1.2.5 - but when you download it, it launches as 1.2.4. Is there another link to download the updated tool from?

Many thanks.
