Weird that yours works, Iersxt. I found the link to the alternate eqlaunch executable (
http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/showthread.php?t=27446) and downloaded it. As soon as I put it in place, the problem went away. I #zoned to Steamfont, walked into Ak'Anon, #zoned to PoK and the Guild Hall, all without error or hiccup.
I'm not a programmer, so I don't know why the 135k file would work for you and not me, but the 230k file worked for me fine.
At any rate, the problem is solved (for me and for now), and I'm moving on to test other functions. Thanks to all for the support and patience!
