You should post which client it is that you are having trouble with. Also, check the wiki to make sure you are using one of the correct versions of EQ for EQEmu:

http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...ClientVersions

As for UI errors, generally that would mean you either installed a custom UI, or you installed EQ over an existing EQ installation. Unless you either install EQ to a NEW folder, or uninstall EQ completely and delete the folder for it and then reinstall, there is a chance you will have files remaining from a previous install that will break your EQEmu compatibility.

I am getting this error also. I removed the Velious UI folder and double checked I had the right files in the default folder.

I used the The Secrets of Faydwer to install for the Legacy of 1999 server. I also have EQ installed on another HD partition on my computer. Do I need to totally removed both again and start over with a complete fresh install? I do still play EQ on the SOE servers.

I am not sure what the Legacy of 1999 server is, but if you mean Project 1999, then that is only compatible with Titanium. SoF will not work for it. Though, you should be able to connect to other servers fine to test your client.

Oops sorry it is Project 1999. Damn, I really didn't want to go out and buy the Titanium version.

I was hoping that the getting started page of the Project 1999 that said - There is another client that works on our server (The Secrets of Faydwer client), but this client is unsupported, and you may experience problems with some of the features. - meant the issues where in game and possibly ignorable.

Looks like i will be making the 50 mile round trip to the nearest store that actually still carries EQ anymore.

If you do, make sure you call first! It is extremely rare to find a copy of Titanium on the shelf of any store these days.

If the P99 website says that SoF can work with it, then that is news to me, though I don't really follow their stuff much at all. If it says that, then maybe there is something you can do to resolve it, but you would have to work with them on their forums, not here.
