Default Yet another blank server screen issue! :)

hey guys. My server is back up and running fine now. People can get on and play with no issues. Ironically enough, when I login, I see a blank server screen.

I searched and found many people have had this problem in the past. I tried a few of the solutions suggested without help. It apparently has something to do with my router. Because when I run my internet straight to my machine, the servers show up. This is interesting since the router doesn't seem to block people from logging into my server, just keeps me from doing so through EQEmu's service lol.

Anyway, Is there a way to log in locally from my server machine while still allowing others to login through the EQEmu server screen? I'm thinking if I can do this, then maybe bypassing my router will allow me in.

If that's not possible, are there certain ports I need to open? Of course I already opened 7000-7100 and 9000 for the server to run. Just wondering if there are specific ports that I need to open in order to allow me to see the server select screen.

Either/or solution would be fine. Thanks in advance!

It sounds like your router doesn't allow loopback. You can get around this by editing your windows hosts file to forward your WAN IP or hostname to your internal IP.

I'm familiar with port forwarding, but I've never had any experience with what you're referring to. How would I go about doing that?

It is a local file for your specific machine to manually identify IP address for specific hosts. They can be custom or legitimate names.

Are you using the public EQEmu LS? If so, it likes to do that from time to time, just keep trying until it works.

evidentally my router didn't allow loopback. Which is really weird. I seem to remember having the same router working with my server before I reformatted by HD.

Anyway, I got a new router, and it seems to working great now. Thanks for the feedback guys. Much appreciated.
